Atanas Krastev

ATANAS KRASTEV is a prizewinner of many national and international competitions.


ATANAS KRASTEV was born on 22nd August 1988 in Sofia in a family of musicians.  In 2007 he  graduated from the Lyubomir Pipkov National School of Music and in 2011 he took his Master Degree in Prof. Anatoli Krastev’s class - National Academy of Music-Sofia. At present Krastev is in Escuela de musica Rejna Sofia  - Madrid, specializing with prof. Natalia Chahovskaja. He attended a cello master class with Yang Chang Cho, Alban Gerhard,  Thomas Carroll, Robert Cohen,  David Geringas, Antonio Meneses, Daniel Weis,   Maria Kliegel, Reinhard Latzko,  Johannes Goritzki,   Luis Claret, Frans Helmerson, Arto Noras,  Tomas Demenga  etc.
From 2001 to 2011 Atanas Krastev won 14 mostly First, Special and Extraordinary Prizes from   national and international competitions (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Serbia). For the high achievements in the musical art he was awarded the Diplomas and Awards of Bulgarian Ministry of Culture, Academy of Young Talents, Award “Golden Muse”  for the performance of Russian music, Award “Crystal Lyre” of  UBMD (2007 and 2012) etc.

Atanas Krastev has given concerts since he was 7 years old. The Bulgarian National Television and Bulgarian National Radio has featured him in live performances and studio-recordings. He has taken part in concerts, filmed by the Bulgarian National Television, the “Nova TV” Channel, the “7 Days”Channel, The “MSAT”  Channel, the Belgrade National Channel, TV “Globo”-Brazil etc.  Atanas Krastev gave concerts as a soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras and chamber recitals in Bulgaria, France(Paris), Holland, Austria, Italy,  Spain, Greece, Czech Republic(Prague), Serbia(Belgrade), Slovakia, Brazil (Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo). The  live recording  of  recital   was edited  by BsB /Brasilia/ - DVD. Krastev recorded live CD   – J. Haydn, Concerto in C major with “Sofia soloists” Chamber Orchestra, conductor  Plamen Djouroff.

Atanas Krastev’s debut as a soloist with an orchestra was in 2001. He has performed over 30 concerts with orchestras under  conductors: Emil Tabakov, Gueorgi Dimitrov, Najden Todorov, Plamen Djuroff, Jordan Daffov,  James Macdonald /USA/, Carlos Moreno/Brazil/, Ronaldo Bologna/Brazil/ Oliver Gilmor/UK/, Jacques Mercier/France/ etc.
Since 2002 he is a member of the “Cellissimo” cello еnsemble   with  Anatoli Krastev and Kalina Krusteva.   Atanas Krastev is a member of Piano Trios:  “Primo”, „Mozart de Deloitte” and „Oscar Esplá de Asisa”(with    which he recorded CD – Brahms and Piazzola) and piano quartet “Brahms de El Mundo”.
