Elena Rozanova

Elena Rozanova was born in Odessa into a family of musicians and studied at the Gnessine school for gifted children and the Tchaikovski Conservatory in Moscow. Her teachers were Tatiana Zelikman, Alexei Nassedkine and Evgueni Moguilevski. She won several international competition prizes, in particular the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibault competition in Paris, the Eduard Flipse competition in Rotterdam, the Takahiro Sonoda competition in Fukuoka, Japan, and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. She is also a laureat of the Cziffra Foundation.

Elena Rozanova has performed with the Orchestre National de France, Orchestre National de Montpellier, Orchestre National de Lille, Orchestre d'Auvergne, the Royale Philharmonie de Flandres, the Novossibirsk Symphony Orchestra and the Saint-Petersburg Camerata, conducted by Jean-Claude Casadesus, Saulus Sondeckis, Arnold Katz, Friedmann Layer... She has appeared in numerous chamber music festivals including the Festival de l’Orangerie de Sceaux, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Carinthische Sommer festivals, Piano en Valois, La Roque d'Anthéron, Radio France Montpellier, La Folle Journée in Nantes, Île de France, Ravinia... Elena Rozanova performs in a trio with the violinist Svetlin Roussev and the cellist François Salque. Her chamber music partners include Josef Silverstein, Raphael Oleg, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Dora Swarzberg, the Ysaÿe Quartet...

Elena Rozanova's more recent performances include Théâtre des Champs Elysées, «  Lille Piano Festival »' Festival, Toulon, Nîmes, the Belém Cultural Centre in Lisbonne, Théâtre de la Ville and Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, at the Colmar, Serres d'Auteuil, Divonne, L'Empéri, Quimper and 'Liszt en Provence' festivals. Her 2007-2008 season engagements include Saint-Saens's 2nd piano concerto with the Orchestre National de Lille under Jean-Claude Casadesus, Mozart's concerto for two pianos with Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland, and Rachmaninov's 2nd piano concerto with the Novossibirsk Symphony Orchestra.

In France her recording with the violinist Graf Mourja for Harmonia Mundi (Ravel, Schnittke, Szymanovski) has been awarded a "Choc de la Musique" in the French magazine "Le Monde de la Musique". Her a recital CD of works by Shostakovitch, Ravel, and Prokofiev in the Harmonia Mundi 'Nouveaux musiciens' collection was awarded 5 Stars in the German magazine Fono Forum and to which the Bayern 4 Klassik radio devoted an entire programme. Her Vladiguerov recording with the violinist Svetlin Roussev, released at the end of 2004, won a Diapson d'Or, 10 de Classica/Répertoire and a special feature in Piano le Magazine. Her highly acclaimed Rachmaninov CD for Satirino Records, including the Moments Musicaux, was selected as CD of the month by Arte television..
From 1999 to 2005 Elena Rozanova was chamber music professor at the Franfurt Hochscule. She is artistic director of “Les Classiques au Val d’Isère”.
