One of the most popular and loved operatic works is again in the repertoire of the Met in the classic stage version from 1981 of the legendary director Franco Zeffirelli. The astounding set design, which is also done by Zeffirelli, is one of the important aspects of this colorful and exciting staging.

Of special interest for the Bulgarian part of the millions of spectators of the Met Live in HD screenings will be the return of Sonya Yoncheva in the role of Mimì. She created a furor at the Met when she debuted in the role in 2014 only 5 weeks after giving birth to her son. After having worked together last season in “La Traviata”, Yoncheva is again partnered with Michael Fabiano, singing the role of Rodolfo.

The romantic story of the young bohemians, searching for their own place under the sun at the beginning of the XIX century, is immortal and full of passion. Joy and sadness, love and jealousy, intimacy and pain – these are the emotional realities of Paris, a cradle of the arts throughout the centuries.

Sonya Yoncheva was giving in everything. It worked: Mimi had never seemed so real. Opera Online
