Albena Danailova graduated from P. Vladigerov National Music Academy and the Higher Institute of Music and Theater in Rostock.
Prize winner at the competitions Sv. Obretenov, Young Music Talents, Kocian and Concertino Prague, Kloster Schontal Germany, Tibor Varga Switzerland, Vittorio Gui Italy. In 2005 she made her debut in Musikhalle Hamburg performing the concerto for violin by P. I. Tchaikovsky.
As a soloist of Milander Quartet she has given concerts in Israel, USA, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany. In 2009 she was a soloist of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra under the conducting of Uros Lajovic. In 2004 she won the contest for the concertmaster position of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
She has worked successively as a leader of second violin players, assistant concertmaster and concertmaster of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich with Zubin Mehta as principal conductor (2006-2007).
Since 2008 she has been the first concertmaster of the Wiener Staatsoper and is the first woman ever taken this position since the foundation of this famous orchestra. Besides the opera performances she also takes part in the concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. She has worked under the conducting of S. Ozawa, D. Barenboim, L. Maazel.
