Hommage to Yfrah Neaman
Prof. Yfrah Neaman is an important name not only in the violin world but in music in general. A student of Carl Flesch and Jacques Thibaud, he had been teaching violin for more than four decades at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London shaping generations of finest violin players. Many Bulgarians had specialized under his tutelage. Mincho Minchev, Vanya Milanova and Vesko Eschkenazy are some of the exceptional violinists among them.Varna’s own Yana Burova, based in England, who has an established career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher, had also had a privilege to be Neaman’s student. She had designed a special program with pieces of three of the most significant British composers from the end of the 19th and first half of the 20th century (Elgar, Walton, Britten) as a tribute to her prominent professor who passed away in 2003. It will also include pictures and stories about the amazing life of Yfrah Neaman, the violinist and teacher.
