Puccini created “Tosca” on the border between the 19th and 20th centuries, in a time of turbulent and alarming changes and great expectations. The opera is a classic representative of the genre based on themes of love, morality, life choices and tragic finale. The action takes place in Rome during the Napoleon Wars, and the central point in the plot is the love between the painter Cavaradossi and the actress Tosca. A joint project of Varna State Opera and Varna Summer International Music Festival, the performance of “Tosca” under the baton of Pavel Balev, with the participation of the star soprano Krasimira Stoyanova and the world-renowned singers Milen Bozhkov and Plamen Dimitrov, is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Opera in the Summer Theater – Varna 2023.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
