The Austro-Bulgarian violinist Mario Hossen and the Italian pianist Piero Barbareschi present rarely performed but extremely interesting version of Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin with the accompaniment composed by Robert Schuman with all the respect he has for the works of the great German master. Nothing in the violin part had been changed but the musical picture is transformed into new dimensions by the piano part that brings the characteristics of the XIX century.
Mario Hossen is a soloist and chamber musician of international acclaim who had just completed a tour in Canada. Piero Barbareschi, on his side, after graduating from Cherubini Musical Academy with flying colours, had rapidly built an impressive career. He has been performing with leading orchestras and chamber ensembles all over Europe; he was a founding member of the Officina de li Affetti baroque ensemble and has a reach discography. Hossen and Barbareschi have recently recorded the Bach-Schuman version of Sonatas and Partitas for the Bulgarian National Radio and Sony Classic Austria.
