Mario Hossen

Mario Hossen is a Austro-Bulgarian concert violinist and conductor considered as one of the leading interpreters of Paganini Music.

He is Artistic Director of the oldest Bulgarian Music Festival, the “Varna Summer International Music festival”(1926).
As a soloist of international acclaim, Mario Hossen has performed with renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra of Moscow Radio, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México. As a Soloist and Conductor he leads regularly the Vienna Chamber Orchestra.

His musicological and artistic endeavors are focused among other things on source research on Niccolò Paganini. The complete oeuvre of Paganini for solo violin and for violin and orchestra will be released as a historical-critical edition by Doblinger “Diletto Musicale” Music Series – Vienna. Several acclaimed CD‘s with the world première recording of some of the most famous works by Paganini in their original version were produced by the leading Italian CD Label „Dynamic“ Genova.
Mario Hossen holds many prestigious awards, among them the City of Sofia, Musician of the Year award. He performs on G.B. Guadagnini Violin (1749), which is placed at his disposal by the Austrian National Bank.
