Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, one of the leading chamber ensembles in the world, this year celebrates 60 years of musical excellence! During this period it has appeared to be a member of the European music elite, among its soloists have been Mstislav Rostropovich, Martha Argerich, Isaak Stern, Svetoslav Richter, Yehudi Menuhin. They will be conducted by Dmitry Sitkovetsky, а Renaissance man, visionary, remarkable violinist and conductor, with a career spanning more than four decades and still counting! He was the chairman of the jury at the Enescu Violin Competition, his “Sitkovetsky & Friends” chamber series still run in the new 3000-seat Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts; his another summer appearance is scheduled at the prestigious Verbier Music Festival. Two of Sitkovetsky’s famous orchestral transcriptions of pieces by Bach and Dohnani are included in this program, surrounding Mendelssohn’s double concerto, composed when he was only 14. This concerto is performed by the famous violinist Mario Hossen who recently recorded the Violin Sonatas by J.S.Bach and the Spanish pianist Ivan Martin, a Warner artist, recognized by critics and audiences, who often plays as a soloist of London Philharmonic Orchestra, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Orchestre de Paris, Helsinki Philharmonic. Orchestra of highest level, magnetic conductor, bright soloists and interesting orchestrations – all the necessary ingredients of a memorable music experience!
