Jazz, classical music and folklore meet in a unique way in the project BALKAN MOODS. Five renowned Bulgarian soloists centered on the legendary kaval player Theodosii Spassov, famous for his ability to combine different genres. Sophisticated rhythms, beautiful melodies and rich cultural traditions; Eastern winds, Thracian tales, Bulgareska, curious titles (This frog has no feathers) – these are the ingredients of this concert. Theodosii Spassov’s composition “Something Beautiful” says it all. These three virtuoso guitarists, a versatile contrabass lady and the best kaval player in the world will present pieces by famous Bulgarian and Serbian composers of today, some of them – premiers. They take the strict classical form and put it in Balkan mood, using the freedom of jazz. Take this journey through the musical landscapes of Balkans!
