Musical Appeal for Peace
The Concert for Peace on 29 June at the Festival and Congress Centre brings a special message with the Festival Orchestra, comprising concertmasters and leading orchestra players from more than 16 countries, in collaboration with musicians from Bulgarian symphony orchestras, two conductors – Maestro Jin Wang and Alexander Gordon.This is an unique festival gathering of leading orchestra musicians from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Austria, Slovakia, Serbia, Turkey, Republic of North Macedonia, Spain, Finland, Moldova, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, Great Britain and China. They will play together as one voice for Peace at Varna Summer Festival. The soloists are Shmuel Barzilai – Chief Israeli Cantor Vienna, Jie Rong – Buddhist Master from Ningbo China, Romanian cellist Anton Niculescu. The program consists of symphony works, based on Orthodox, Buddhist and Chassidic Chants, written by Rimsky Korsakov, Max Bruch, Jin Wang, Roxanna Panufnik, Veselin Stoyanov. The violinist Julide Yalcin will perform the famous Bulgarian piece “Sevdana” by Georgi Zlatev–Cherkin. A new work by Ukrainian composer Alexander Rodin will have its world premiere in the program of this special evening.
This concert is part of the project “Ukraine Solidarity and Invocation for Peace in Varna Summer IMF”, supported by a grant from Culture of Solidarity Fund by the European Cultural Foundation.
