Romania, Austria, Czech Republic and Bulgaria – the musical heritage of these Danube countries will be featured in this special concert. Bela Bartok, not only one of the most important composers of XX century, but a thorough ethnomusicologist as well; Rainer Bishoff who was born, had studied and taught in Vienna, not only a composer but also a philosopher; czech pianist and composer Gideon Klein, who died in a concentration camp and whose music follows the paths of Schonberg and Janacek; and one of the founders of Bulgarian composition school, Pancho Vladigerov – born in Switzerland, raised in Shumen and Sofia, studied in Berlin.
