Othello’s tragic end was foretold from the beginning – being a Moor, though elevated to general, was an unusual status for Venice in the 16th century. The young patrician Desdemona, who falls in love and even secretly marries Othello, a man of color much older than her, ignoring the hierarchy and established order in the Venetian court, also decides her fate.

These bright images will be recreated by world-famous Bulgarian voices – opera diva Krassimira Stoyanova, a welcome guest in all significant world opera houses and whose name is synonymous with the highest vocal and artistic mastery. On the stage, she will partner with her graduate Milen Bozhkov and Vladimir Stoyanov, who is among the most prominent Bulgarian singers, awarded the title of “Knight of Verdi” and won the recognition and love of international and Bulgarian audiences and critics.
