A megastar of violin will shine with his charisma in front of the audience of the International Music Festival “Varna Summer“ 2022 – Alexander Markov. The Russian musician has made a successful career in the USA and is one of people’s most favourite violinists. His posture and manner have been inspired by the great Paganini, while Markov has won a gold medal at the International Paganini Violin Competition.

He will come on the stage in Varna with the Istanbul Symphony Orchestra conducted by Mete Volkan Yalcin. It is a virtuosity programme which will satisfy even the most demanding music connoisseurs: Markov, Grieg. Markov will demonstrate his class and technical abilities in works by Saint Saens, Vivaldi, Massenet, Sarasate. The orchestra will shine on its own with the suite “Peer Gynt” by Grieg.

Born in Moscow, Alexander studied with his father Albert Markov – also a violin virtuoso. In 1982 he moved to the USA, where he made his debut in Carnegie Hall. His biography includes a lot of concerts and recordings, among which are the 24 Caprices by Paganini. He also likes rock music and interpretations on an electric violin.
